Jamal and Kaneisha’s paths were always destined to cross. Having grown up together in the same church, and with church being a major part of their lives, they became close friends at a very early age. Jamal always had a playful crush on Kaneisha, often joking about how they were going to get married one day. At the time, a joke is all he could hope for it to be. He thought Kaneisha was very much so “out of his league”, given how much older and more established she was than him at the time. In addition to her beauty, he was captivated by the way she carried herself, and the high standard she held herself to. He was even inspired by her ambition, her drive, and her relentless pursuit of whatever it was that she wanted for her life.

Kaneisha and Jamal, being three years apart, never seriously entertained the idea of pursuing one another when they were kids, but once they were both all grown up, they began to notice that the age gap became smaller and smaller and what were previously “jokes”, started to become more and more real. Kaneisha always valued Jamal’s friendship. She relied on him as both a voice of reason and as a listening ear. He was always there when she needed him, and this would be the driving force behind the development of her romantic feelings for him.

The two were at a time in their lives where they both needed one another, and it ignited a flame that would eventually lead them to the altar. They began dating in January of 2013. Neither of them are too fond of being the center of attention, so they would keep their relationship quiet for an entire year. They would spend the next 10+ years experiencing life, traveling the world and making countless memories with one another.

They were blessed with the highest highs, but also tasked with their fair share of lows. But through even the toughest of times, their paths proved to be divinely aligned, and their love and foundation cemented. Jamal ultimately asked for Kaneisha’s hand in marriage in January of 2024, and the two couldn’t be happier in forging a union that will last a lifetime.
